Sometimes the Rooster Crows at Night

riding your bike uphill
it’s sunset in low gear
but you can’t make it to the top
so you get off and walk
out of breath
can’t much breathe walkin’ up the rest of the way
then the rooster crows at night
and 3 little rabbits hop right in front of you
makes you smile when you’re hurting

and you stop
look back
and there’s the hill behind you
you still made it to the top
and got the grace you needed
when you were weary
a little laughter
a little love
a new perspective
cuz sometimes the rooster crows at night
instead of just in the morning

Peace and Hope

1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
