How to Stop and Quit Smoking

I started smoking cigarettes when I was 9 years old in gymnastics.  You say you only smoke once in a while?   Playing around with, fooling around with, smoking once in a while ... leads to addiction. Nobody is immune to cigarette addition, so don't be fooled:

"The Illusion of Immunity is the Trap of Addiction"
Christina Nevada

By the time I was 12, I was addicted.  Everyone told me it was mind over matter, but as much as I beat myself up for it, I couldn't quit.  Dad was pretty harsh, for good reason, but binding the demons out of me didn't seem to cut it.

I smoked for 25 years until I learned how to quit.  I got scared.  I didn't want to have to tell my kids, "I'm sorry.  I'm dying of cancer, and I can't stick around for your wedding because I couldn't quit smoking," ... or their high school graduation or the birth of their children.  If you don't know if you want to quit, ask yourself this:  Do you wish you never started?  If, yes, you want to be free of this addiction.

I can help you.  I'll show you how after 25 years of inability to quit, I learned how and did it.

First thing is to go get these items and store them in the cabinet so that when you're ready to try for a morning, you'll have them.  Always get your doc's approval before taking or combining medicines.

THIS IS WHAT YOU'LL NEED

            1)  Benedryl or sleeping pills or something approved by your doctor to help you sleep it off for about 4 days.

            2)  Anti-panic attack medicine (I took lorazepam but there are others (ask your doc)).  It takes the panic out of quitting.

            3)  Nicorette gum.

            4)  Trident Gum (always sugar free so you don't rot your teeth).

            5)  Go here and download the benefits of quitting smoking.  Within the first 20 minutes of quitting, the healing process begins.

Encouragement:  this will be the rabbit in front of the race horses (and this is a race against time with your life) .. and you can win.  Go here and print this:

Don't think you need to quit forever when you first fool around with quitting.  Just try it for a morning and take it 1/3 day at a time.  What will happen is that you will begin to gain confidence and see that you can actually do it.

Here's the catch:  It only took one hook to catch a fish.  Same thing:  One drag will get you hooked again.  It's that simple.  The more I fed myself nicotine, the more I hated the addiction.  It takes 4 days for the nicotine to leave your body and about 1 week to break down the psychological habit.  I stopped 7 times in a year thinking I could handle a drag or a cigarette, but each time I got hooked again.  Now, it has been  12 years.  It's harder to resist a slice of pizza than a cigarette.  I did it.  You can, too, but hanging around people every day who smoke will corrupt you just like bad company corrupts good morals.

It's hard, though, every time; but, at least with the tools I listed above it was possible for the 1st time.  I am so glad that I am free from the addiction.  I saved my health, my money, my life.  I try not to hang around people who smoke, but I did quit when I was married and while he was still smoking around me.  It's possible.  Now, I won't date anyone who smokes, because I'm not going down that path again.  I'm free ... and I want to help you to be.
